The QFREB provides real estate boards and their members with a variety of services in the areas of professional practices, government relations, market analysis as well as communications and public relations.

Market Analysis

The Federation's Market Analysis Department is Québec's authority in the analysis of residential real estate sales data. In addition to analyzing and publishing detailed monthly, quarterly and annual statistics, the Department produces several studies, including the QFREB Barometer – Residential Market, and various chronological series and special compilations which are made available to the public. The Federation's economists are always up-to-date on the most recent economic indicators that influence market performance, and regularly publish newsletters, reports and analyses on a variety of topics affecting Québec’s residential real estate market.

Government Relations

The mission of the Government Relations Department is to defend the interests of QFREB members among government authorities, as well as implement, promote and lobby on a variety of real estate related issues and interests.

The Government Relations Committee, which is made up of real estate brokers from across the province, works to create and maintain a network of connections among elected officials throughout Québec. Committee members regularly meet with industry stakeholders in order to present the Federation's positions on real estate related interests, such as regulatory issues, legislation, etc.

In addition, the Government Relations Department works jointly with The Canadian Real Estate Association to strengthen its lobbying efforts nationally.

Professional Practices

The QFREB’s Professional Practices Department offers conciliation and arbitration services to real estate professionals who are members of a real estate board. These services allow members to effectively resolve commission disputes that may arise during real estate transactions, and demonstrate the organized real estate industry's commitment to self-regulation.

The Professional Practices Department also provides seminars to all real estate boards in order to better assist brokers in the event of a dispute. Brokers are educated on the various situations that may arise as part of a dispute and are thus better equipped to deal with this situation.

Communications and Public Relations

The mission of the Communications and Public Relations Department is, firstly, to promote the QFREB’s image and strengthen its reputation among internal and external audiences and, secondly, to ensure the coherence and coordination of all the QFREB’s communication activities. In line with the Federation’s strategic objectives, the Department assists the management team in handling public affairs, establishes a permanent and ongoing dialogue with the media, and oversees the management of certain events.
